The Investigators Group, corporate officers and employees are governed by a set of guiding principles, the first three of which are:

All company activities, from the corporate interaction with other companies to employee interaction with each other and with clients, shall be conducted in an honest forthright manner. No one shall purposely mislead or conduct him or herself in a dishonest way.

At IGI, we believe that all people should be treated with dignity and respect, and judged by the content of their character. All actions should be measured by the objective standard "Would a reasonable dispassionate person in the community come to the same conclusion and take the same course of action given all the circumstances."

We believe that the foundation of a profitable relationship between the IGI and our clients must be based on honesty, loyalty and integrity. As partners in the successful outcome of each investigation or security assignment, we believe that we all have a responsibility to maintain an honest and ethical relationship with each other and to educate each other about our practices, our policies and our approach to each assignment.

The Company's investigators and staff have been made aware of our corporate guidelines. The process has been informative and has allowed us to continue to improve our own standards. Without reservation, we agree as a company and as an investigative team to comply with those guidelines.

Proper communication between our clients and us is an essential part of our mission statement. IGI truly wishes to include our clients as partners in the analysis and assessment of investigative outcomes. To do so, we commit to keeping our client's informed of the progress of each assignment, particularly when problems or difficulties arise that threaten the assignment's objectives.

Our clients expect and receive an honest effort each time an assignment is undertaken. We believe that any firm can bring any assignment to a successful completion occasionally, or even frequently. The challenge is to begin each one as if it is the most important one and to give a 100% effort each time out, and to assure the assignment is completed and reported on time.

The company, has its head office in Toronto, and also maintains an office servicing the Hamilton, Barrie and Lindsay.

We maintain strategic alliances with other reputable investigation firms throughout Canada and around the world to service our client's needs.

In addition to meeting our client's geographical requirements, IGI is committed to providing a level of service that we hope will set the industry standards. With respect to investigations, we commit to begin each investigation within three business days of receiving the request. Further, we commit to completing the investigation and reporting it to the client within 15 business days of the original request, unless the individual file is of a greater duration or the client requests otherwise.

We believe that to be successful we must be able to adapt to changing circumstances. It is our policy to conduct an investigation at the time of day at which the subject of the investigation is most likely to be observed. This is not always between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. If the initial investigative effort, research or pre-surveillance indicates that the subject is more likely to be observed at night, or on the weekend, we will concentrate our efforts at those times.

We commit to undertaking and completing our assignments within the financial constraints set out by the client. We will always keep in mind, the budgetary limitations both with respect to hours billed and expenses incurred. Because of our commitment to communication and our sophisticated reporting systems, there are few circumstances in which the investigation proceeds beyond the financial constraints.

All reports are written in a third person narrative and as indicated above, describe only our investigators observations in an objective unbiased fashion. Reports are chronological and we will adjust our reporting practices to suit client preferences. We include with each report, a supervisor's analysis of the investigation. The report will detail difficult surveillance situations, optimum surveillance positions and surveillance requirements for future investigative purposes. We retain all notes, videotapes, written notes, notes on audiotapes, and any other evidence collected for the purposes of continuity. All such items are properly secured and remain the property of the client. Daily documentation of current weather conditions, the equipment in use, the opening surveillance position and the status at the target location. In the event that a proper name is unavailable, we will describe the person observed by his or her apparent relationship to the subject, if possible, and accompany that observation with a detailed physical description of the person observed.

Video footage obtained is factual. No attempt is ever made to alter or edit the video in order to present a biased view of the subject's disabilities or abilities under investigation. Investigators are instructed to video all activities of the subject, whether the activity does or does not support a particular view. If for any reason, the investigator is unable to video tape the activity of the subject, he or she is instructed to report their visual observations in the same fashion. The electronic copy of video footage provided to the client is edited for relevant content, however, the original 8mm tape is secured and retained on behalf of the client and is not edited in any way. Computer generated video images are obtained from the video footage and printed on a colour printer and included as part of our submitted report. Our video footage displays continuous date and time indicators. Reports are always verified to ensure that the written report is consistent with the video footage obtained.

The Investigators Group is the most cost-effective investigation firm available. We are convinced that a continuing relationship with our company will contribute to the bottom line. We believe that the most cost-effective investigation is one that is done right the first time. If an investigation requires additional resources, we will explain the reasoning behind the requirement to our clients, including the costs and the benefits. The client must be fully aware of all circumstances to make an informed decision.

Rates for special fraud investigations will be agreed upon with our clients prior to the commencement of the investigation. We also offer fixed pricing arrangements for both AB, BI and long term disability investigations. Prices for special fraud and forensic investigations are determined with the client at the outset of the file.
